Monday, April 30; grey's grey's grey's and a shepherd

alright alright. i'll admit. i have something to confess.

im sitting on that wagon of McDreamy. to those who are not part of it, well it's grey's anatomy i am talking about. yes yes yes im part of that whole girly-hormoney-herd that is all hooked up on grey's. actually, simply put, grey's is like the female, more serious version of scrubs.

i know bits and pieces of the few seasons; following it periodically, but i decided to make a commitment to the show. i am going to watch it from season 1, episode 1 again. BUT i am NOT going to speed through it like all my mad-greys friends (ok i watched the first 12 episodes in less than 4 days but that was BEFORE) haha i am going to savour it episode by episode :)

ive always been a medical drama buff. had followed er from all the way back, even the medical forensic terms on csi is really what i like watching too. in the first place, my first ambition i had proclaimed to my mom was related to the hospital. that ambition idea changed along the way, but it doesnt mean ive forgotten and would abandon it completely.

grey's opening scene is really out of the accepted norm. as 8 days had reported on it once, even before the credits roll in, it shows a girl, waking up in a sofa, picking up a blanket from a guy (sleeping on the floor) to cover herself; then throwing another cushion to cover his butt. simplistic. nonchalant kinda sex. they both even forgot each other's names. now, who'd think that it would be just one end of a long pretty ribbon? (and patrick dempsey's nice ass)

patrick dempsey: it's HIS ass

"stop looking at me like that."
"like what?"
"like you've seen me naked"

love, sacrifice, struggle, pain, fship, duty, strength, responsibility, lessons, humanity, hurt are just some key terms one can absorb and feel so strongly in the show. even one theme of love in this show can be fragmented into one that is innocent, one that is unrequited, one that is silent, another that hurts and another that gels. it is almost impossible to sympathise and feel the emotional being of each of the characters or of the overhanging cloud. meredith's soliloquies are what i like listening to, too.

"Maybe we like the pain. Maybe we're wired that way. Because without it, I don't know; maybe we just wouldn't feel real. What's that saying? Why do I keep hitting myself with a hammer? Because it feels so good when I stop."

Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey), Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd), James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber), T.R. Knight (George O'Malley), Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang), Katherine Heigl ('Izzie' Stevens), Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), Isaiah Washington (Preston Burke), Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), Kate Walsh (Addison Shepherd), etc. have created a specific, personal characters; they bring in the character's history, life and ideas - moulding unique, lovable enduring people; impossible to hate or at least, deprive them of their well-earned credit. even each patient involved, has their own rewarding winning performances.

the Brit cyclist viper hitting on meredith

each of the stories are just as interesting, if not more, than er. be it a child with a blushing problem, a man who still talks and survives 6 nails in this head, a boy with 10 judy doll heads or a pretty goodlooking Brit cyclist with metal spokes in his side. each story brings out more of the doctor's character and thoughts. each story is a platform to know them better.

"i'm drawing a line. the line is drawn. there is a big line."
"is it imaginary, or do i need to get you a marker?"

i'd rewatch parts of season 1 til i have to return it back to the grey's-library lim wwei:) the elevator scene is always my favourite;) for those who are still pondering or wondering what's the big deal of grey's anatomy, go google it on youtube and watch some of the music videos - it might trigger a heartstring. even till now, ive been hearing The Fray's How to Save a Life on my iTunes for the umpteenth time now.

i am currently, NOT a grey's anatomy addict.

okay, yet.

comeon huitze, it's just some self-control and self-discipline. you can do it.

and for the record, ive always thought that dr derek shepherd was a ruggard hot man. the mix of rough, sexiness and intelligence. he's 40 but heck it, i can understand why meredith fell for him. i'd still have a fling or bed him. i will totally meeeeeelt into my chair if he walked into the same room as i did.

for those who think it's cos im still in the beginning seasons: sloan is a pretty boy too, but i'd STILL bed shepherd instead ;)

another picture to sigh at :)

"...But Derek, I love you, in a really, really big pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me, choose me, love me."
