Tuesday, August 21; love, as it is.

the multitude of tiresome projects and their respective presentations plus the immediacy of heavy-content exams have been trashed, stepped and trampled on:)

it almost feels weird. to have some time back. or rather, all the time back.

in other news,

i am a super proud aunt of my first niece:)

she popped out into the world yesterday evening, wrapped in pink and having a nice substantial tuff of black hair. rebecca.

my two nephews, aged five and two, were first injected with shock. then it was pure adoration.

it was amazing.

looking through their beaming eyes and genuine smiles, it's love.

it's not the happiness they get from new toys, or getting an equal share of the cake they were fighting over. it was pure.

it was priceless.

the love they were ready to give isnt even what their new sister was prepared for. yet.

one declared he will be sleeping with her in the babyroom, not realising that she needs to be fed, changed and coaxed.

the other wanted to share his portion of koropok with her, who just learnt how to swallow.

that's what love is suppose to be right. the flawless, unadulterated, pristine goodness of such.

but truth to be told, it's hard to find, hard to spot, hard to imitate, hard to inculcate if it's been banished far away.

"Today, for things to be more valuable, they have to be scarce." - The Art of Murder by Jose Carlos Somoza

im not sure if i can replicate that same spontaneous, genuine love either.

if i could seal all that into an airtight bottle,
so that if i lose all sense that such genuine pure love is around,
i wont be stopped short.

i finally have a niece from my sister:)
