okay i am way behind my essay, which is really in a bad state since i really have no idea how to make it stellar or even decent. it's theory and thought - how on earth can i make it exciting and thought provoking after Marx, Weber and Durkheim have already done it so?! it's 30% and due in slightly more than 24hours; i better get it done properly.
so before i trotter back to conjuring something sociologically decent, let me do some girly retail release.

i've never been the sort who likes to splurge. in fact, i just don't believe in the idea that because one has the ability to pay, you just excessively do.

sure some brands make it a point that you have to splurge to enjoy the intangible benefits of social status. it's hardly part of their marketing plan to have a price cut, no matter how much no matter how small. it tussles out those who is in dire desire and those who just don't care about the price tag.

in fact, for others, i get so maddened when i see it as a sale item, after deliberating (do i need it? will i wear it? will i use it? what's wrong with it? isn't there something wrong about it that i can find so that i won't have to succumb to buying it? so, do i really need it?) like 40hours over the original price. and i still get annoyed if the item gets further discounted after i bought it for a lower discount.
it's the principle! okay, maybe not so serious, but still!

so anyway, while i'm not a brand whore; sticking to selected brands and only religiously decked in that specific brands, it is common to be inclined to favourites.
could be overrated, but i like my shorts from abercrombie, which isn't brought here but i remember getting them on sale, just can't remember where.

i can't believe i had five pairs (all different sizes) in a certain cut because it's really comfortable: dark army green, khaki brown, white, beige and navy blue. i've since passed the first two to my mother cos they really are too big.
Kylie in white floral(THIS ONE IS REALLY REALLY NICE.)
abercrombie is one brand, like esprit, i can never understand to why would one pay so much for at original cost. it is a casual wear brand, with lovely cuts, pretty colours and well, i like them but still, why would you (you, me, you buying for me, someone else, or just anyone) pay US$50 for a pair of shorts?
like i said, it's the principle.
Belle in navy
so like all those pretty dresses and the nice fitted shorts above (THEY ARE SO NICE!), this pet brand is one i'd probably go mad in, but would take me a while to warm up with my wallet. it's the principle!
against contrary belief, i actually do like jeans. i like to try them on, see if they fit snugly, scrutinise if they make my thighs look ginormous, analyse if they kinda give me a butt or not, and like any other item, feel the connection.

of course logically, sometimes jeans in Singapore just don't go. seriously, it's mad crazy to wear jeans in a weather that melts me into a pool. other than that, and when strategically thought through (condition: four hour class in a freezing lecture), they can work comfortably.
also another (surprising to some) fun fact, i do like long shirts that are folded at the elbows. it's a nice, preppy, neat good look; matched it be with shorts, jeans or a skirt. but same as above, too hot.
i worry for those in long sleeved shirts and jeans: heat stroke.

okay i'll spare you and who else that chances by here, denim skirts, with just one! :)

there. a really girly mindless entry; a good move away from too many think-thought-processed ones. or maybe wrecking my brain for social thought and theory has really done it.
okay have a good week all! :)
p.s. okay okay okay i got onto an a&f spree with my da sao; but all sale/clearance items WITH 30% online storewide off too. see, legitimate justifications.
