it's not crossroads that can really scare you,
but it's the multiple junction. and the traffic light.
you don't have a map on hand, or neither is there one being sold in the convenience store round the corner.
suddenly your familiar neighbourhood and terrain becomes the most unfamiliar, the most obscure; not the same secure one you knew. the one you could skip with your eyes closed and with a smile on your face, find your way to your doorstep.
it's not just two roads you can take,
but one that has many you can't see the end. one that scares you knowing things would change and the roads would disappear once you decide to take that path you set out to go on.
it's the anticipation of disappearance of those roads, those you can't run back to like the familiar roads you were once used to.
and remember that traffic light? it's going to change.
