so how do you do that?
do you train it, by singing the same tune over and over again, hoping it picks it up and say the same?
do you only let it see pretty, gorgeous images of what you want it to see (of course you chose it, who else), so that it feels happy?
do you decide to define what happiness should be like to it and teach it to embrace?
do you teach it what should be happiness, joy, laughter and satisfaction?
do you correct its understanding of happiness so that it suits how it should be?
do you reprimand, sternly discourage or even deprive it of wants when there is resistance against your efforts?
or how about when there seems to be lacking response or imitation? what do you end up doing?
do you keep trying from points one to five, trying patience, trying honesty, trying bribery, trying understanding?
how about being in the cage? how about trying to see between the bars? how about listening to what the bird sings usually? how about encouragement?
and even if it's tone deaf, how about giving it a smile and support, love and passion? maybe it's already singing a happy tune but you don't even notice, or think otherwise.
"To burn with desire and keep quiet about it is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves"
Playwright Federico Garcia Lorca
